It almost feels surreal, to be here at the end of this Master's Program. Looking back, there are many things I would do differently, but ultimately I am grateful for how things turned out. In the past year, I have become a wiser and more knowledgeable teacher.
One of the lessons I learned through this program is to work hard today, to set myself up for success tomorrow. When I was receiving my bachelor's, I often did work the day it was due or do work last-minute. Through this program, I learned how to budget my time so that I was not overwhelmed or unable to do my best work. I am incredibly grateful for this lesson, as it has benefitted me outside of a learning environment, and has positively impacted my work ethic.
A second lesson I learned during this program is the importance of research. Being able to access so many rich and interesting articles has encouraged me to read research articles for subjects outside of the classroom that I am interested in. Research can provide such useful information outside of a class context, and I am eager to participate in more self-led studying.
A third lesson I learned in this program is to keep persevering. Regardless if I'm tired, or "not feeling it." If the work needs to get done, I need to get it done to the best of my ability. It has been exciting to hear that I will be graduating with honors and had I not learned to work to the best of my ability, I would not have achieved this merit.
I would like to thank you all for working alongside me and providing feedback on my work. It has been an honor to learn with you all, and I wish you all the best. To my professor, thank you for all that you've done in this final class, and I appreciate all the insight you have given as well.
It has been a pleasure learning alongside you! I am inspired by the significant impact and benefits collaborating with other early childhood professionals has on the children and us professionally and personally. When we, as early childhood professionals, unite under one shared vision and collaborate, we can see the success of our vision. I wish you all the best!
ReplyDeleteHi Itze, it has been a pleasure learning and growing with you. I adored your quote, "work hard today, to set myself up for success tomorrow." I too have struggled with staying proactive with my assignments and completing tasks at the last minute. Walden University helped me stay one step forward and work on assignments ahead of time rather than the day or night of the due date. Congratulations on attaining honors, that is a huge accomplishment. Thank you for sharing your experiences and lessons learned. Feel free to keep in touch with me at kirsten.manley@yahoo.com. I hope we can work together in the future. I wish you the best of luck with all of your future endeavors. Have a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes,
Kirsten Manley
